Changes to Northern Virginia Mail Delivery effective July 1
The Administration at Virginia Tech's Northern Virginia Center (NVC) have decided effective July 1, 2009 that all campus mail going to Blacksburg will be delivered only two days a week - Tuesday and Thursday - instead of five days a week.
Also, those in the NVC will no longer be picking up the cost of the campus mail delivered from Blacksburg to the NVC.
How will this affect you?
If you have a department in the NVC, or send mail to the NVC, you will need to send mail to their NVC mailing address and NOT their mail stop number (0362). Effective July 1st, you are required to put postage on your mail sent to NVC.
The Blacksburg mail room will return all mail sent to NVC without postage back to the originating department effective July 1, 2009. Therefore, you will need to be diligent in getting this new policy out to those within your departments that send mail to the NVC.
The administration at the NVC appreciates your understanding and patience as we are forced to make these difficult decisions during these hard economic times.
